La Canfora
In 1988, Romana, Barbara and Maurizio took over the then
Astian trattoria, and started a new adventure in the
culinary world.
In the first year the business remained relatively
unchanged, with the cafe-tavern attracting its long-time
customers, and offering them small snacks and sandwiches
in the evening.
Then, after a Wednesday afternoon visit to the beach,
the idea was born for the trattoria also to offer fish
and seafood dishes.
Trattoria La Canfora became a place with home-style
dishes, mainly consisting of fish. Barbara and
Romana continue today to attract new local and
international customers with their refined menu items.
Now,
almost 20 years later... much has changed since 1988,
but we are still very dedicated to our work. The
only "luxury" we've allowed for ourselves is the
extended hours of closure during the winter season, so
that with renewed energy we can once again start a new
season.
